July in Flint - II

A big highlight of my first week in Flint was getting assigned to photograph Jennifer Korth, a young woman who was diagnosed with esophageal cancer when she was 25 years old. Through years of fighting and a few remissions, the cancer eventually spread throughout her body and they knew she didn't have much time left. Her last wish was to be married to her fiancé Allen Korth before passing away. The Michigan Chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding, which provides weddings to the terminally ill, stepped in and provided a beautiful wedding for the two lovebirds. I unfortunately was not able to go, as I got into a car accident sever hours before, but I felt lucky to be able to spend just a few days with her, as she was an amazing person. She passed away on Aug. 4, just a month after her wedding. I feel so honored that she let me into her life.

Rest in peace Jennifer.
