July in Flint - I

Hey y'all!

So it occurred to me that is has been exactly about a year since my last blog post, when I was at the Palm Beach Post. But, I am no longer in Florida anymore! I went back to Ohio for a while to finish out my senior year (updates which will come later), spent some well needed time back home in the south, and then packed up my car and headed up to Michigan. I have now been interning with The Flint Journal\MLive Media Group for almost two months, and I owe it to y'all to show you what I've been up to. This is going to be a very long post, and then there will be many more long posts to follow.

So the first week in Flint started off normal, and then actually ended up getting pretty crazy, with all of us sent out to cover a stand-off with a gunman and the police on the north side of Flint. This was really my first "breaking news" experience, and I definitely learned a lot from it. Tensions were high, and I felt it hard to make pictures most of the time I was there. Still trying to find that balance of doing my job and being respectful.

The rest of these are photos from random daily assignments that I'm okay with.
